Minister Killed

Oglethorpe people were shocked Thursdayupon learning that Rev. J. M. Walls, who until about 10 days previous had lived on the Oglethorpe plantation, had been killed by a tree falling on him. The sad accident occured in Florida, the deceased only leaving for that state a few days previous. Mr. Wall was accompanied to Florida by two daughters, the remainder of the family to remain here until the preacher was settled in his new home, he having gone there to take charge of a church. Sincere sympathy is extended by the many friends of the family. The body was carried to Montezuma Friday, interment being near that city. Deceased is survived by a wife and several children.

Rev. J. M. Walls Is Accidently Killed

Word was received in Montezuma Thursday evening that Rev. J. M. Walls was accidenely killed by a falling treenear Waukeena, Fla. He has charge of a church at that place and was there to fill his regular appointment when the fatal accident happened.

Mr. Walls with his family reside on a farm near Oglethorpe. The interrment [sic] will be made in the Felton Cemetery immediately after the arrival of the body in Montezuma from Florida.
